The Conference

The 10th edition of the Sustainable and Impact Investments International Conference (SIIIC) will be held on January 28 and 29, 2027, at the UNED (National University of Distance Education), Madrid, Spain (how to get there: https://goo.gl/maps/CfsPAQjBxej4qDMNA)

The conference will be jointly organised by UNED, through the Research Group on Sustainable Finance and Social Responsibility (FINRES), Universitat Jaume I of Castellon through the Sustainability in Organisations and Social Responsibility Management Research Group (SOGRES-MF), the Research Institute of University of Cantabria (SANFI) and the Spanish Sustainable Investment and Finance Forum (Spainsif).

The Conference brings together leading international academics, policymakers, and practitioners to present innovative research and engage in dialogue on critical issues in sustainable finance. Launched in 2017 by the Department of Management of the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, the Conference has become a key annual meeting for global experts in social impact finance. Since the 2023 edition, the Conference has been co-organised with the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission, GreenWatch (University College Dublin, UCD), SoGReS-MF (Jaume I University of Castellón), FINRES (UNED University, Spain), and The University of Hamburg. These institutions joined the founding partners: Sapienza University of Rome, UnitelmaSapienza, and Casmef – LUISS Guido Carli.

The 2027 Conference invites scholars to submit original research papers across a wide range of sustainability-related fields. The event will feature leading scholars and professionals, along with several distinguished keynote speakers, such as Helena Viñes (president of the Sustainable Finance Platform UE).

Publication opportunities

• We are working to ensure that selected conference papers will be considered for submission to a regular issue of different journals under a fast-track peer review process.

Timeline:

3rd August 2026: Start submission of working papers or extended abstracts
7th September 2026: Start conference registration
5th October 2026: Submission deadline for working papers or extended abstracts
2nd November 2026: Paper acceptance notice given
7th December 2026: Deadline for Conference registration and fee payment
11th January 2027: Submission of full papers for extended abstracts submissions
